Lynda has been a devoted summer resident of Fire Island for many years, and shows new oils and watercolors out there every summer. Her fine art work is extraordinary and can be seen and purchased right here on this website in the Engstrom Online Art Gallery
As an Art Director, Ms. Engstrom has worked for CBS, Hearst, McCalls, Redbook, Seventeen Magazine, The New York Times and The Daily News. She was one of the earliest professional Designers on the Web, putting up her first site in 1994. Since then she has run her own Web Design business, creating custom sites for private clients in her distinctly unique and personal style. Check out a sampling here: The Short List
As a Computer Professional, Lynda has served as Design Director and Webmistress of NYMUG's MacStreet Journal Online, and chaired Web Developer and Web Graphics SIG's for NYMUG and NYPC User Groups. She's taught HTML Seminars at The Dalton School and Web Seminars for Charles River Computers.
Ms. Engstrom has been a featured guest on Manhattan's MNN-Cable TV program "ComputerLinks" and has been interviewed on "PC Planet", a WEVD New York radio show. She has been a guest speaker on Web Design at Columbia University and a panelist at VISCOMM Expo and Seybold Seminars at the Javits Center in New York.
Lynda's original "Postcards!" website is one of the few free sites on the Web with "no commercial ulterior motives". It has been cited as "refreshing" and "new and linkworthy" in the CyberTimes arts@large column of The New York Times.
Lynda is a member of The World Wide Web Artists Corsortium, The New York New Media Association, and The Association of Internet Professionals.
Ms. Engstrom's latest area of endeavor is Technical Analysis of the Stock Markets. She's a part-time Trader, and has found that having an artist's eye gives her a distinct advantage in Chart analysis and pattern recognition. She attends TA Seminars at Bloomberg with the Market Technicians Association, where she hopes to receive CMT Certification.
