Ms. Engstrom finds Saltaire one of the most picturesque villages on Fire Island, a place looking much the same now as it did a century ago. Because cars are prohibited, bicycles and little red wagons abound and deer roam freely on the wooden boardwalks. Ms. Engstrom finds something to paint at every turn.
